A brief history of Risen! The Musical Productions

2012 The first Risen! concert was, in fact titled The Season of Singing and took place at Holy Rood Church, Stubbington on Easter Sunday. Only some Risen! songs had been completed so the concert was a combination of those, together with read Scripture and classic worship songs with which the audience joined in.

2013 A pilot stage production of Risen! took place on Easter Sunday 2013 at Holy Rood Church, Stubbington.

2014 This was a return to the original concert format of 2012, The venue was again Holy Rood Church, Stubbington, and the date again Easter Sunday 

2015  The full Risen! The Musical  premiered in May at the Coventry Pentecost Festival. Later in November there was a production at the New Theatre Royal, Portsmouth  with a cast that included the Portsmouth Gospel Choir. The Risen! The Musical double album was also released.

2016 Risen! The Musical featuring the London Touring Cast was  performed and filmed in April at The New Theatre Royal, Portsmouth. Later in May  there was a special performance  at St Peter’s Church, Ravenshead, Nottinghamshire, in part to celebrate the 60^th wedding anniversary of Ken’s brother Jack to Eileen.

2018 Risen! The Musical Theatre in Education Easter Tour reached over 4000 children in 17 schools in Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and West Sussex.
